AIDS Network Yokohama or ANY is a volunteer group launched in February 1993, aiming at supporting people living with HIV/AIDS and doing enlightenment activities.

The main infection route is sexual contact, so everyone can get infected with HIV. People who died of AIDS all over the world have left messages for better future, teaching us the importance of understanding each other with love. With their messages always in our mind, we are aiming to support people with HIV or those worried about infection, and to create a society where anyone can live as they are without being discriminated.

HIV patients are increasing at this moment, too. While social systems are necessary for them to live at ease, prevention of infection is just as important. We would like to let people know how to defend themselves from HIV.

The number of HIV/AIDS patients is increasing every year, whereas those who go get testing or consultation service at local public health centers are not increasing.

Knowing your HIV status is very important. The earlier you know your status, the earlier you may be able to get treatment which will help slow the progress of the disease. It also keeps you from giving the virus to other people. HIV prevention leaflets say gYou should not have sex with unspecified persons.h gUnspecifiedh means you never know their HIV status. Do you have any idea about whether your sex partner(s) has been infected? How about yourself?

We provide service for giving information about testing facilities and counseling if you have any concerns about getting tested. Feel free to call us at (045)201-8808 on Mondays from 17:00 to 20:00 (5:00 pm ~ 8:00 pm).

Taking an HIV test
